    History of Microfiber

No one is exactly sure when microfiber was first developed. Some say it was by the Japanese in the 1970’s, others say it was introduced in England in 1986, and still others claim it was Sweden around 1990. We do know, however, that this highly absorbent fabric had taken the cleaning industry by storm by 2001.[source]

Microfiber cloths are made up of a variety of positive-charged fibers. These attract the negatively charged dirt and dust like a magnet and pull up whatever it is you are cleaning from virtually any hard surface. The “micro” fibers are so small, they are able to attach themselves to dirt and bacteria particles that other cloths miss completely. This is what makes microfiber window cleaning cloths ideal. They can also absorb up to seven times their weight in soil and liquid and can be used dry to polish those windows into a streak-free, high shine.

    Microfiber for the homeowner

Microfiber window cleaning cloths can be especially useful for homeowners, and for more than just cleaning windows. Use them for your everyday household cleaning tasks. These cloths pick up dust like a magnet, without the need to keep re-wiping the same surface over and over, making dusting less of a chore. Another perk? It won’t leave lint particles on your now dust-free surfaces.

Use microfiber to wipe and polish mirrors and glassware, without the lint and streaks. Or wash your car with one cloth and follow with a slightly damp second to polish and give it that “like-new” sparkle. Our microfiber cloths are also great for cleaning smudges off of eyeglasses, camera lenses, or tablet and computer screens since they are soft enough not to scratch.

Microfiber for the window cleaning professional

Ready to take your cleaning service up a level? These microfiber window cleaning cloths can get you there. They are incredibly durable and reusable, withstanding hundreds of washes. Our cloths are double-faced, can be used wet or dry, and are safe for all surfaces. They even get softer after each use and wash.

Microfiber cloths have a dense, circular weave, which enhances its cleaning effect, giving you a better result with less effort and without any scratching or streaks. Use a dry cloth to finish off your cleaning job for that extra touch.

Worried about dry time? Don’t be. These cloths allow for natural (chemical-free) cleaning and drying. The microfiber material allows air to pass through easily. So, while these cleaning cloths expand 16 times more than other synthetic cleaning cloths—allowing them to hold more water—they dry quickly.

Using your microfiber window cleaning cloths

Microfiber window cleaning cloths can be used in two different ways: wet or dry. Use only a section of the cloth at a time, so that as one part gets dirty, you can unfold to an unused section and continue. By using this method and changing out the sections, you make better use of the entire cloth.

Wet: To use your cloth wet, simply run under water until damp and use to wipe off your surface. No cleaning solutions or chemicals needed (unless you want to). The incredible retention abilities of these cloths allows for better scrubbing, for longer periods, without having to re-wet your cloth. Make sure to wring it out thoroughly before use to increase the cloth’s ability to absorb dirt and residue.

Dry: Use a dry microfiber cloth when dusting. The dry microfiber material creates a static charge that attracts dust particles like a magnet. When you have collected a lot of dust on your cloth, shake it to remove the particles. You can also use a dry cloth to finish your cleaning job and remove any leftover streaks or residue.

    Microfiber wash and care

The quality and effectiveness of your microfiber cloth will diminish if it is not taken care of properly. Microfiber cloths should never be washed with other types of fabrics and should be hand washed. When washing, use cold or warm water to soak the cloth. Do NOT use hot water to soak or rinse. Once it has soaked for a while, use your hand to agitate the water and release the dirt and dust particles from the cloth. Rinse with clean water and hang to air dry.

You can also clean your microfiber window cleaning cloths in a washing machine with liquid detergent and dry them in a dryer on low heat. Do NOT use dryer sheets, powdered detergents, fabric softeners, bleach or hot water.

    Why use microfiber cloths?

Beyond the already established perks to using microfiber cloths to clean your windows, you can save a lot of money. A single microfiber cloth does the job of and is more durable than other cleaning cloths. You are also able to clean without using a cleaning solution, allowing you to cut out harmful chemicals used for and money spent on these products. An extra perk? Good quality microfiber cloths can eliminate up to 99% of bacteria on most surfaces just using water![source]
