Some say it was by the Japanese in the 1970’s, others say it was introduced in England in 1986, and still others claim it was Sweden around 1990. Wet: To use your cloth wet, simply run under water until damp and use to wipe off your surface. No cleaning solutions or chemicals needed (unless you want to). Make sure to wring it out thoroughly before use to increase the cloth’s ability to absorb dirt and residue.
Dry: Use a dry microfiber cloth when dusting. The dry microfiber material creates a static charge that attracts dust particles like a magnet. When you have collected a lot of dust on your cloth, shake it to remove the particles. You can also use a dry cloth to finish your cleaning job and remove any leftover streaks or residue.
Microfiber wash and care
The quality and effectiveness of your microfiber cloth will diminish if it is not taken care of properly. Microfiber cloths should never be washed with other types of fabrics and should be hand washed. When washing, use cold or warm water to soak the cloth. Do NOT use hot water to soak or rinse. Once it has soaked for a while, use your hand to agitate the water and release the dirt and dust particles from the cloth. Rinse with clean water and hang to air dry.
You can also clean your microfiber window cleaning cloths in a washing machine with liquid detergent and dry them in a dryer on low heat. Do NOT use dryer sheets, powdered detergents, fabric softeners, bleach or hot water.
